Photography is, for me, not just a way to capture intimate moments, but another way to connect with people in my life. The week after the last day at my job, my (now former) boss Joan and her family got together for a family session near their home in Baltimore. Thinking back, Joan wasn’t sure they had any family photos since their daughter Corrine was 3 - and she’s in high school now! We managed to fit the session around the family’s busy schedules while their eldest, Cecilia, was still home from college. Summers in Baltimore can be brutal, but we managed to get to Sherwood Gardens early enough before we all started sweating profusely. The Garden is best known for its amazing tulip display in the spring, but it’s a gorgeous location at any time of year. One of my favorite moments was when someone commented “For this to be an accurate portrayal of our family we’d have to all be on our phones,” so we grabbed a few shots of everyone on their iPhones! Thank you Joan, Mark, Cecilia and Corrine for having fun with me that morning!
