I was pretty excited to be recommended as a photographer for the HopeSprings annual fundraiser event at the American Visionary Art Museum last month. HopeSprings "awakens, equips and engages" people from the faith community to serve those with HIV in Baltimore. They raise awareness about HIV and train a network of volunteers to work with people in their communities and to end the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS. My church has worked with HopeSprings for some time and a friend currently works there, but this was my first time really hearing about the organization's mission and purpose. I don't consider myself an overly religious person, but I feel that they are truly doing God's work. Please learn more about them and consider donating and/or volunteering.
My friend Chuck assisted me at the event and was a great support to have. I wish I got a photo of us together there! It took my back 3 days to recover, so I think I'll be investing in a camera harness before my next event.
